The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 29, 1997 Nora Shannon/Nunn of Aguila died Oct. 21 in a car accident while driving home from a job at Arrowhead Bar and Café in Congress. She was 34. Mrs. Nunn was born Aug. 27, 1963, in Oregon. She had lived in Aguila for the past four years. Nora grew up with an interest in animals. As a child, she enjoyed horses, cattle and smaller pets. Her mother organized a group of young girls that displayed animals in local gatherings. She was a cowgirl who performed in rodeos. Nora always took pride in her work and was involved in her community. She was an outstanding waitress at Jim’s Lazy G café and bar, worked on the school board, and did volunteer work with the Head Start program at the school. Survivors include three daughters, Kea Villanueova of Toppenish, Wash., and Chelsea Clark and Alicia Reza of Aguila; mother and mother and stepfather Arija and Leon Powell of Aguila; father Carlton Shannon of Culver, Ore.; half-brother Michael Luongo of Dallas, Texas; half-sister Michelle Shannon of San Diego, Calif.; several aunts; two uncles; one niece and one nephew; and her companion, Mundo. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Aguila Community Bible Church, with Pastor Dan Carlson officiating. Interment is at the Aguila Cemetery. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
