The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 31, 1997 Thelma Faye Force died Dec. 20 in Bakersfield, Calif. She was 89. Mrs. Force was born May 29, 1908 in Vliets, Kan. She was a former longtime resident of Salome, living in the community from 1957 to 1991, before moving to California. Survivors include her only daughter, Charlotte Patricia Force Brown Walker and son-in-law Darrell Walker of Bakersfield, Calif.; granddaughter Patricia Baker Sedillo and husband Zeke Sedillo of Los Lunas, N.M.; granddaughter Robert “Bobbi” Brown Adams of Bakersfield; grandsons Dustin Brown, Rocky Walker, and Johnny Walker of Bakersfield; future granddaughter-in-law Jill King of Bakersfield; great-granddaughters Lenee Baker, Amanda Sedillo, Amelia Sedillo and Ariella Sedillo of Los Lunas, and Ashley Adams and Luren Smith of Bakersfield. Services have been held. The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 31, 1997 Thelma Faye Force died Dec. 20 in Bakersfield, Calif. She was 89. Mrs. Force was born May 29, 1908 in Vliets, Kan. She was a former longtime resident of Salome, living in the community from 1957 to 1991, before moving to California. She and her husband Truman Edward “Pat” Force, who preceded her in death, ran a small motel for about 12 years in Salome. Thelma was a strong woman who lived alone with her dogs for 22 years following pat’s death. She enjoyed working in her garden and visiting with her family. Her remaining years were spend with her family in California after a health problem surfaced which made it impossible for her to live alone. Survivors include her only daughter, Charlotte Patricia Force Brown Walker and son-in-law Darrell Walker of Bakersfield, Calif.; granddaughter Patricia Baker Sedillo and husband Zeke Sedillo of Los Lunas, N.M.; granddaughter Robert “Bobbi” Brown Adams of Bakersfield; grandsons Dustin Brown, Rocky Walker, and Johnny Walker of Bakersfield; future granddaughter-in-law Jill King of Bakersfield; great-granddaughters Lenee Baker, Amanda Sedillo, Amelia Sedillo and Ariella Sedillo of Los Lunas, and Ashley Adams and Luren Smith of Bakersfield. Not only was Thelma cherished by her family mentioned above, but she had many other nieces, nephews, cousin and a large amount of friends across the United States. Thelma, for many years, spent her time on her CB radio talking to truck drivers from all over. She was known to them as “Mama Parson” and had her own CB club known as the “Mama Parson’s Sons Club,” which had more than 500 truck drivers as members. Thelma will be greatly missed by all. Graveside services were held Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Wickenburg Cemetery, with Pastor Ed Wessling officiating. Frey funeral Home in Wickenburg was in charge of all local arrangement.
