We lost a great woman, Marjorie "Marge" Ann Windecker, age 75. She passed away peacefully Monday, April 4, 2011, from a battle with brain cancer. Amazingly, she kept her humor and stubbornness to the end. She was born on Feb. 13, 1936, in Manchester, Conn.
Marge worked tirelessly for various causes that were dear to her heart. She always looked for opportunities to help those in need. She donated much of her time and talent to provide a beautiful public park for citizens in Erie, Colo., in 1983. She also wore a Santa suit, and for many years, delivered toys and food for those in the community of Golden Valley.
Marge had a great vision and was the founder of Sew Inclined, a non-profit organization. She gathered a great group of local women from Mohave County to work together to bring beautiful quilts, quillos, stuffed bears, cancer hats, and lap robes to those in need of warmth and comfort in our community as well as other states.
Marge will be greatly missed by her husband of 48 years, Donald Windecker; as well as her surviving children, Barbara Herrington from Denver, Viola Bruning of Golden Valley, Tracy Fowler of Baton Rouge, La., and Donald Windecker of Golden Valley.
She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Marge is survived by two sisters; Pat Kesner from Chloride and Janet Palmer from Connecticut.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lingenfelter for all of his care, support and most of all his friendship.
Services for a celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sew Inclined House, 3341 N. Adobe Road, Golden Valley, AZ 86413.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sew Inclined.
