GORDON, Wesley Laverne


The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on April 7, 2011 - Wesley Laverne Gordon passed away peacefully in his home the morning of Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Wesley was born in Copeland, Kan., Oct. 14, 1930, to parents, Edwin and Pearl Gordon. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Upon returning, he married his sweetheart, Carol Gordon, and set about building their lives together in Alhambra, Calif. Wes founded and operated advanced duplicating services in that community for several years while raising his two sons. Wes was also active in commercial and residential real estate. Upon retirement, he and Carol moved to Kingman where he served as a deacon and treasurer for Oak Street Southern Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Wes found his greatest joy in raising four of his grandchildren. Wes is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; sons, Dale Wesley and Michael Lee; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Journey Church's Ministry Center located at 4798 Stockton Hill Road.
