Gene Jerhull Watt, 80, of Prescott, Ariz. passed away on April 7, 2011, in Chino Valley. He was born on Sept. 26, 1930, in Ute, Iowa, to Ersel Raymond Watt and Zida Mae Stephenson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ersel and Robert and sisters LaVonne and Vesta. He married Esther Schulke in 1949 and they lived in Lawton, Iowa, where he helped farm. He was employed by Swift & Co. in Sioux City. They moved their family to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1969 where he worked as a cabinet installer until his retirement in 1995. In 1996, they moved to Prescott. His wife of 50 years passed away in 2001.
Gene is survived by his brother Charlie (Donna) Watt; his brother-in-law Dick Monk; his children Sharon (Ron) Barton, Linda Watt, Lori (Bill) Boy, Michael Watt; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He had many neighbors and friends who loved and respected him.
Bonnie and Odie were especially dear to him. Gene donated his body to Sciencecare. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Granite Mountain Home Care and Hospice in Prescott or Science Care in Phoenix. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
