Susie Granillo Carranza, a lifelong resident of Arizona, died June 30 at Chandler Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 87.
Born in Tempe, she lived in the Chandler area for most of her life.
Survivors include three daughters, Irene McWhorter, Virginia Guzman, and Betty Vasquez; four sons, Ralph Carranza, Albert Carranza, Emilio Carranza, and Armando Granillo; one brother and four sisters. Her husband, Rafael Carranza, died in 1956, and three children are also deceased: Ernest Carranza, Sylvia Ortega, and Lillian Valenzuela. Susie is also survived by 48 grandchildren and numerous great- and great- great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, July 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 5445 San Angelo St., in Guadalupe.
Burial will follow in the City of Mesa Cemetery.
