Copper Country News Globe, Arizona 4/13/2011 Elsie R. DeAnda, 88, of Claypool passed away Monday, April 4, 2011, at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe. She was born on July 4, 1922, in Globe, Arizona the daughter of Anna (Trujillo) and Joe C. Ruiz. Elsie enjoyed going to TOPS, bowling, and ceramics, but above all she loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joe “Chayo” DeAnda on March 27, 2009; and an infant daughter, Socorro. Elsie leaves behind in loving memory five daughters, Betty, Anita (Joe), Virginia (Gary), Patsy (Jim) and Joanne (Michael); one son, J.R. (Vicki); three brothers, Andrew, Joe and Gilbert Ruiz; one sister, Vera Vasquez; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mom, we love you and will miss you greatly. Rosary was held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan Street, Miami, Arizona, with Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens, Miami, Arizona. Funeral arrangements for Elsie R. DeAnda were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services, Miami.
