John Thomas Barrells, born July 29, 1942 in Tiptonville, TN., the youngest of seven children.
John was welcomed home by his parents and siblings on July 1, 2003.
John fought so hard to stay here with his loving family. The love of his life, his wife Victoria, who stood by him every minute and adored him. His two beautiful daughters, Amy Staley and Lisa (David) Staley. The joys of his life, Ashely, Tanner, Ryan & Kaitlyn his grandchildren. The step-sons that he was so proud of Neil Brooks and Bryan (Jill) Brooks and their two boys, Parker and Payson.
After serving seven years on the Royal Oak Michigan Police Dept., John moved to Arizona and joined the Phoenix Police Dept. He just retired after 30 years doing the job he loved so much and leaves behind many friends. He will be especially missed by those at the Maryvale Precinct and by those on his softball team. We will miss his wonderful smile, his kind heart, his passion for softball, toys; and certainly, his stubborness!
