BRITT, George P.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, July 6, 2003 George P. Britt passed away peacefully on June 25, 2003. He was born January 27, 1917, in Cortland, NY, graduated from high school there and from Hobart College in Geneva, NY, where he was a member of Phi Phi Delta fraternity. In 1937 he married Margaret Turk, and in 1941 went to work for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Rochester, NY. In 1954 George was sent to Arizona with his family to open the Liberty Mutual office in Phoenix, and he retired from that office in 1981. After Margaret's death, George married his present wife, Marian, in 1980; and they moved to Sun City in 1989. He is survived by Marian, daughter Peggy (Stephen), son Michael, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 11:00am on July 10th, 2003 at Willowbrook United Methodist Church, 19390 N. 99th Avenue, in Sun City, AZ 85373. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Willowbrook United Methodist Church, or Sun Health Hospice Care Services, 12740 N. Plaza del Rio Blvd., Peoria, AZ 85381, will be appreciated.
