Black's Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Darrald E. Lines (February 9, 1918 - April 10, 2011) Darrald E. Lines, 93, of Snowflake, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at his home. He was born February 9, 1918, in Lordsburg, NM. He was raised on a farm in Virden, NM from the time he was 8. He attended school at Gila Valley College (EA) where he met Mary, and they were married on May 27, 1941, in Mesa, Arizona Temple. He graduated from New Mexico Teacher’s State College in Silver City, majoring in accounting. He played the saxophone and Mary played the piano at Saturday night dances in Kirtland, NM. They raised their family in El Paso and later in Odessa, TX. Darrald worked for several natural gas companies in Texas and then retired from Ladd Petroleum in Denver, CO and moved to Snowflake. He was involved in many community projects and received the Man of the Year award in 1993. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in scouting. Darrald is survived by his wife, Mary; five children, Naoma Staley, Janyth Chesser, Verla Klimoski, Kevin Allred and Lenes Line; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Viewing will be Wednesday, April 13, from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. in the Snowflake LDS Stake Center. Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon Thursday, April 14, at Snowflake Cemetery.
