BAYLES, Donald Burnett

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ November 22, 2006 Donald Burnett Bayles, 87, died Oct. 18, 2006 in Broken Arrow, Okla. He was born on Feb. 12, 1919. A long time resident of the Verde Valley, he and his wife Lois built a home in Sedona in the '60s and moved there full time in the '70s, after he retired from the Post Office. Donald served in World War II and saw years of service in England and France. He received his honorable discharge on Oct. 15, 1945. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Curry. A private memorial will be at Cottonwood Cemetery on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006.
