FORD, Laura

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, April 20, 2011 Laura Ford of Grosse Pointe, Mich., and a 35-year seasonal resident of Wickenburg, passed away peacefully on April 12 at the Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center after a brief illness. In her years in Wickenburg she was a board member of Las Damas as well as a member of the board of governors of the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, and an accomplished horsewoman. She was the owner of the Arrow-Y Cattle Company, which she ran with her dear late friend Willie Hershkowitz. Laura was a longstanding member of the Los Caballeros Golf Club and the Wickenburg Elks Lodge. At Laura’s request, there will be no funeral. Her ashes will be interred in her family plot located in Detroit, Mich., She is survived by her niece Nina Ford Richter of New York City. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Wickenburg.
