The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 15, 1965 Mrs DeArozena Buried Sunday Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, April 11 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for Mrs Samms DeArozena, a long time resident of Wickenburg, who passed away April 9 in Community Hospital where she had been a patient since April 5. The Rev. Marvin Elam of the First Southern Baptist Church officiated and burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Mrs DeArozena, the former Faye Samms, was born November 6, 1889 in Weir, Kan. She lived most of her life in Arizona. She and the Late Joe DeArozena were married in July of 1929 in Nogales, Ariz. Mr DeArozena, who passed away here February 9, 1950, was a civil and mining engineer and was an engineer for the Arizona Highway Department for many years. The older of the two spans which bridge the Hassayampa River here were erected while he was with the highway department. The DeArozenas lived for many years on the Constellation Road but in recent years Mrs DeArozena resided in the home at 51 South Kerkes Street. Mrs DeArozena is survived by a sister Mrs Margaret Phillips of Amarillo, Tex., and a brother George B. Samms of Springfield, Mo.
