Wickenburg (AZ) Sun Thursday, June 3, 1965, p 15 Rites were held last Saturday morning in Phoenix for Major Charles E Powell (U.S. Army, Retired) of Wittmann who passed away May 24 while being brought to Wickenburg. The body was taken to the Grimshaw Mortuary in Phoenix where the services were held. Burial was in the Resthaven Park, Glendale, with American Legion officiating. Major Powell, who was retired, was a veteran of both World Wars and also served with the Border Patrol at Nogales, Ariz. He was 80 years of age. Survivors include the widow Eudorah M and a daughter Mrs Geraldine Savage of Wittmann; six sons, two other daughters and two brothers, all living out of state.
