Former Local Teacher Dies
His former students in Wickenburg High School, their parents and friends learned with regret of the death November 11 in the Veterans Hospital, Phoenix, of Anthony Brewster who taught 11th and 12th Grade English here during the 1963-64 school year. Mr Brewster, who was 33 years of age, had been in ill health for some time.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. November 13 at the Mercer Mortuary in Phoenix with Chaplain M. J. Zalidivar officiating. Cremation followed.
Mr. Brewster, who was born May 18, 1932 in Los Angeles, received flight training at Williams Air Force Base near Chandler, starting in 1952 and served 7½ years in the Air Force, including action in the Korean War and duty later in Germany and Alaska. He was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with Oak Leaf clusters. He was a 1962 graduate of Arizona State University, Tempe and also taught school in Phoenix.
Surviving are the widow Genevieve and a son Bret of Phoenix; his mother Mrs Marie Young of San Diego and three sisters and four brothers, all living out of state.
