Richard Cimino (Poppy) passed away peacefully July 4, 2003 with his loving family at his bedside.
He fought an intense battle with cancer for almost two years. Richard was the "boss" and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His stern demeanor concealed a genuinely compassionate man full of much love and kindness. It has long been known that "He can fix anything but a broken heart." With his passing, his family now has that broken heart.
A man of courage and dignity, Richard was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during World War II earning seven medals including the Bronze Star. His spirit will continue to live on within each of his surviving family members.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Phoenix, Arizona, a member of the Engineering Society and past president of the American Italian Men's Civic Organization.
He is survived by his wife, Tina, son, Richard (Carol), and daughters, Diana (Tom) and Stephanie, as well as his grandchildren: Christina, Richard J. II, Anthony, Veronica and Alexandria, and sisters: Mary and Grace.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Laguna Woods, Tuesday, July 8th at 9:00 a.m.
