Margaret Sedillo, 90, of Lakeside, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her home. She was born October 29, 1920, in Mangas, NM, to Tomas and Teresita (Baca) Castillo. She was raised and attended school in Mangas.
She was married to Nestor P. Sedillo; he preceded her in death in 1971. She loved to cook and had worked for 27 years for El Rancho restaurant in Pinetop. She was well known for her tamales. She also enjoyed taking care of her yard, dancing, bingo and going to the casino. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Pinetop.
Survivors include her children, Marcelino (Crucita) Sedillo of Phoenix, Teresa (Sisto) Garcia of Lakeside, Rosie (Alfred) Chavez of Phoenix, Daniel (Mary Ann) Sedillo of Whiteriver, Jerry (Vicki) Sedillo of Phoenix and Tina (Paul) Bird of Phoenix; a sister, Placy (Steve) Padilla and brother Leborio (Polly) Castillo, all of Quemado, NM; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Nestor, Jr., several brothers and sisters and three grandsons.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, April 25, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Pinetop. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 26, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Pinetop. Luncheon will be served following the service.
