The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Saturday, April 23, 2011 Derek Hamblen [1982 - 2011] Derek Hamblen, age 29, enjoyed a life full of love and adventure. He grew up in Sedona, graduated from Sedona Red Rock High School, then went on to Wyoming Technical Institute. He loved dirtbike riding, cars and trucks, computers, and Star Trek, but especially loved to spend time with his friends and family. He is survived by his parents, Kathie and John Hamblen, his sisters, Andrea, Jesse, and Jill, and his brothers John and Jerry, along with many other family members and close friends. Memorial Service will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood, AZ on Monday April 25, 2011, at 5 pm. Dress casually in memory of Derek. Information provided by survivors.
