BRADFORD, LeJune (June)

(Maiden Name: Hackett)

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, April 27, 2011 LeJune “June” Bradford left this world and went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 19, 2011 with family by her side. She was born in Shirley, Ark. on Jan. 7, 1922 to Katie Ann Maxwell Hackett and Alvin Hackett. June attended Sunday school regularly and it was there, at church, where she first met the young man who would later become the love of her life, Lowell Bradford. June moved from town shortly after, but returned a few years later, much grown from the young girl in Sunday school and one year later, in 1939, she and Lowell wed and went on to enjoy 51 years of marriage before Lowell’s passing in 1990. Being an only child, June found great joy and friendship in the Bradford family – seven children strong. June and Lowell soon began to build their own large family with Carol, Bob, Ron, Michael J., and Randy. The family left Arkansas and headed West in 1950 as the warm and dry climate would help ease Lowell’s arthritic condition and a good job in the mining industry would provide the family with a more comfortable life. It took some adjusting, coming from the lush trees and plants in Arkansas to the desert, but June put her green thumb to work and transformed her yard into an oasis and created a warm and inviting home. She led a busy and full life, raising a family and also working outside of the home at the B&K and then later for Gila Medical Services, where she retired in 1987. She and Lowell were active members of the Church of Christ in Globe and after her retirement, she spent many years as a dedicated volunteer with the Cobre Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary. June was very close with her five children and truly loved and adored her many grandchildren, all of whom were very special to her. She also enjoyed and treasured her many dear and close friends and felt very blessed to have experienced these special relationships. Pets brought her great joy and she was never without one or two as she kept a small collection at all times. Both she and Lowell spoiled many a dog rotten. She also loved country music, bird watching, family picnics and traveling. June was loving, adventurous, witty and sassy and a great example of strength and wisdom. She will be greatly missed and joyfully remembered by all who knew and loved her. Preceding June in death were her parents, her husband, Lowell E. Bradford, and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Bradford. She leaves behind in loving memory her daughter, Carole (Boyd) Spradling, and sons, Bob (Zeva), Ron, Mike (Carol Jean), and Randy (Terry); 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. A visitation for LeJune Bradford was held on Friday, April 22, 2011. Services were held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel. Interment was at Globe Cemetery, Globe, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for LeJune Bradford were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
