Warlick O'Dell "Peso" Dollar of Wickenburg died Dec 18 in Glendale, Ariz.
He was 73.
"Peso" wrote the song "Out Wickenburg Way." He was a long-time country musician who led his band with his name, "Peso Dollar." The band performed for many years on the Desert Caballeros Ride.
He also was a spokesman and did TV commercial spots for Hurst's Ham & Beans.
"Peso" had worked in law enforcement for 22 years, retiring as a lieutenant with the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Former Governor and Secretary of State Rose Mofford was among the dignitaries who atteneded Mr Dollar's funeral service.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Dollar of Glendale; daughters Denise Dollar of Glendale and Pam Rogers of Italy; sisters Glenna and Geneva, Geneda; brother Wyman; grandchildren Anda, Tommy and Aaron Rogers, Kip, Chris and Mike Pollay of Wickenburg, Anna Lee and Amanda Dollar; and great-grandchildren Travis Pollay, Kyle Pollay, Desiree Pollay, Christopher Pollay and Ty Pollay.
He was preceded in death by brothers Dwayne, T.Y. and Johnny Lou.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec 22 at 1pm at the Lundberg White Rose Chapel in Glendale, with Jim Custer of Wickenburg officiating.

Correction: In the obituary for Peso Dollar in the December 30, 1998, Wickenburg Sun, Mr Dollar was incorrrectly credited with writing the song, "Out Wickenburg Way." The music and lyrics for Our Wickenburg Way were written by Dwight Latham. The song was arranged by Mildred Walker.
