The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 13, 1966 Winter Resident Summoned His many friends here, where he had owned a winter home since 1962, were shocked and saddened upon receipt of word of the untimely death January 4 of K. Myron Hickey, following a heart attack suffered in his home in St. Louis. Mr. Hickey, age 60, was a leading insurance executive of St. Louis. He was president and treasurer of the National Home Life Assurance Co., and of the Hickey-Mitchel Co., also an insurance firm. He served in an official capacity with five other insurance firms. He also served on the board of numerous civic organizations in St. Louis. Mr & Mrs. Hickey bought land on the Vulture Road Extension in December 1961, and had their winter home built starting the following March. At the present time a guest house is under construction on the property. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 6 at Lupton Chapel in St. Louis and burial followed in the Bellefontaine Cemetery. He is survived by wife Melissa McKay Hickey; two daughters in St. Louis and son, Joseph F. Hickey II, stationed with the Army at Fort Leonard Wood. His parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph F. Hickey of St. Louis also survive.
