Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 19, 1966, p. 1 & 5 Accidental Gunshot Wound Fatal to Lad Funeral services were held in Globe, Ariz., this week for Danny Castellnos, who lost his life from an accident gunshot wound last Saturday evening. The accident happened just off the Vulture Mine Road and about four miles south of Highway 60-70 where the parents and boy had gone rabbit hunting. Sheriff’s Sergeant James Mason, who investigated the tragedy, said the boy’s father shot a rabbit with his rifle, then traded his rifle for his wife’s pistol when he saw another rabbit and went to get a shot at it. The father laid the loaded pistol on the ground while he was skinning the rabbit he had shot. When he heard a shot he discovered little Danny had found the pistol and it had gone off, the bullet entering his stomach. The parents rushed him to Community Hospital where he died later that evening. The boy would have been three years old July 16 of this year. His father is a barber at Gifford McDonald’s Barber Shop on Tegner Street. The family has lived here 2½ years.
