Services For Mrs Westall Held Monday
Funeral services for Mrs Esther Westall, who passed away July 1 in Community Hospital following a long illness, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Presbyterian Church with which she had long been affiliated. The Rev. John Williams officiated and burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
She was the wife of R. L. Westall, former long-time Justice of the Peace here. For a number of years Mrs Westall served as a deputy clerk of Superior Court and in that capacity issued marriage licenses.
She was active in the Ladies Aid Society of the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Business & Professional Women’s Club until illness compelled her to give up that activity.
Mrs Westall was born November 7, 1905 in West Virginia, and moved to Wickenburg in December, 1923. She and Mr Westall were married in 1924 and for a time owned and operated a restaurant known as the Home Café on what is now Frontier Street. More recently they have been operating the Restwell Motel.
In addition to the husband, she is survived by a son R. L. Westall, Jr., and a daughter Mrs R. L. Gilbert, both of Phoenix. Four brothers also and two sisters survive. They are Julian, Carl, Stanford and Lyde Herrick and Mrs Laura Tolman, all living out of state, and Mrs Goldie Loss of Tucson. Five grandchildren survive.
