Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 28, 1966, p.5 Last Rites Tuesday For Mrs Driskill Funeral services were held in the Wickenburg Funeral Home at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning for Louise Catherine Driskill, age 81, who passed away July 22 in Community Hospital here where she had been a patient since July 16. The Rev. William D. White, Rector of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church conducted the services and burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Born march 8, 1885, in Chicago, Ill., she was a graduate of Julliard School of Music there. She moved to Phoenix in 1905 with her mother and brother. In 1909 she married David B. Driskill, who for a time was sheriff in Phoenix. In 1927 they built and operated one of the first motels in Phoenix, the Goldspot Inn on West Van Buren and had a grocery store in conjunction with it. The Driskills operated the motel until his death in 1947 at which time Mrs Driskill and her son moved to Wickenburg where she resided until her death. Surviving her ar her son, Jack (A. J.) Driskill and granddaughter Jackie Driskill, both of Wickenburg.
