Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, April 26, 2011 - Flor Marina Remedios passed away April 15, 2011, at home in Lake Havasu City, at age 95. She was born Jan. 9, 1916, in Banes, Oriente, Cuba. “Ita,” as she was known to her family and friends, was an exceptional, loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She thought her greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lit up a room with her smile, warmth and laughter. She loved to sew; she made the best Cuban food anyone could ever imagine. Most importantly, she taught us how to pray and never lost hope or faith in God. She was an angel on earth. We are going to miss you, Grandma! Family and friends will be gathering together to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, whom we are going to miss very much. A rosary will be Wednesday, at 10:15 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, 820 N. Garfield Ave., Montebello, Calif.
