Dickson, age 68, of Laughlin, Nev., passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nev. Jim was born in Burkburnett, Texas, on April 10, 1942. Jim worked at the Colorado Belle Casino in the Slots Department for many years. After several years of retirement, he decided to go back to work. At the time of his death, he was working for the Golden Nugget where he made many new friends, and truly loved the feeling of being useful again. He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Dickson, his mother, Eva Hart Dickson, and his wife, Jill Edge Dickson. Jim is survived by his companion, Sandy Hamblen of Laughlin, Nev.; sister, Jo Phillips of Spring, Texas; brother-in-law, Dennis Edge of Dallas, Texas; three nieces, Cay (Mike) Johnson of Pearland, Texas, Lynne Hormick of Spring, Texas, and Ginger (Mark) Dann of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Mike Edge of Ft. Worth, Texas; two great-nieces, four great-nephews, two great-great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew, all residing in Texas; and six adopted grandchildren. Jim is now with God in Heaven but he will be truly missed by all the many hearts he has touched. Graveside memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas.
