Leo Carrillo, 81- year-old movie star for three decades, died Sunday in Santa Monica, Calif. Mr. Carrillo was known to many Wickenburgers as he was a guest on the Desert Caballeros rides of 1947 and 1950. On those two occasions he helped entertain the crowds on Frontier Street at the send-off ceremonies.
Mr. Carrillo, who made his biggest movie hit as the lovable Pancho of the Cisco Kid series, died of cancer.
He was born in Los Angeles, was a newspaper cartoonist before turning actor in his early 20s, and played in vaudeville, stock companies and on the New York Stage before he went into movies.
