COMMUNITY MOURNS RUTH DODGE TWEED
All Wickenburg mourns the death of Miss Ruth Dodge Tweed, which occurred Monday morning of this week in a Phoenix hospital where she had been a patient for several days. In her eleven years as a resident of Wickenburg, she gave freely and cheerfully of her time and energy toward the development of the cultural and spiritual life of the town and she will be greatly missed by the many friends she made while residing here.
Her work as assistant librarian of the Wickenburg Public Library for the past two years contributed substantially to the progress that splendid institution has made. During the past year she was secretary of the Ladies Aid.
A native of Phoenix, Miss Tweed lived there until she was 10 when her family moved to Hayden. The years between 1917 and 1922 were spent in Los Angeles. In 1922 she returned to Phoenix and came to Wickenburg in 1935.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Charles H. Tweed of Wickenburg and two brothers, Dr. Charles H. Tweed, Jr., and Dr. William M. Tweed, both of Tucson.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:30 o’clock in Memory Chapel of A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary in Phoenix. Cremation was at Greenwood Memorial Park.
