GARFIELD, Emil,Sr.

Wickenburg (AZ) Sun Thursday, March 24, 1966, p 11 Emil Garfield Sr, 81, for 50 years a resident of Arizona, passed away in Community Hospital March 17, after a brief illness. Mr Garfield was born in Italy. He came from Europe to Montana as a young man and farmed and homesteaded in that state until he became a citizen at the age of 28. Fifty years ago he moved to Arizona where he worked for the Santa Fe railroad until his retitrement December 23, 1953. He was married August 17, 1925 to Carmen Ybarra and they made their first home at Bouse, Ariz., and later at Salome and Wickenburg. Bedides his wife he is survived by two sons, Ernest of Tucson and Jean of Wickenburg; a daughter, Mrs Estella Koster of Phoenix and seven grandchildren. The cheerfulness, kindness, and understanding of Emil Garfield will be deeply missed by his wide circle of friends who mourn his passing. Rosary was said for the deceased at 8pm March 18. Funeral services were held at 8am March 19 at St Anthony Catholic church. Burial was at Wickenburg.
