The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 12, 1947 OLD-TIME RESIDENT OF WENDEN DIES AT VETERANS HOSPITAL WENDEN – Wenden regrets to learn of the passing of Jack Rogers, 72-year-old resident, who passed away at 4 a.m. December 3 in the Veterans Hospital at Whipple Barracks. Jack was a Spanish-American war veteran and was one of Wenden’s old-time residents and miners. Mr. Rogers was taken to Whipple Barracks some two weeks ago, when he became seriously ill. Military funeral services were held for him December 5, at Whipple Barracks, where he was interred. He leaves four brothers, Al, Jim Tom and Sherman, all residents of the Bill Williams district and one sister, living in Phx; besides other relatives and a host of friends. Wenden extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
