ROGERS, Jackie Ray

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 15 1966, p. 15 TRUCKER IS 15th DEATH ON HIGHWAY Highway fatalities for the year in the Wickenburg highway patrol area reached 15 with the death early Friday morning of a California truck driver, Jackie Ray Rogers. Rogers, age 28, was killed instantly when thrown from the cab of his tractor-trailer at 1:56 a.m. almost directly in front of Mrs Ben Smith’s trailer court about a miles west of Morristown. The heavy truck, loaded with produce, left the westbound lanes of the divided highway, struck an embankment in the median, jack-knifed and threw Rogers out. The latter was listed by the highway patrol as a resident of Chino, Calif., formerly of Tucson. Debris and produce partially blocked traffic on the highway for four hours, officers said. The local highway department crew was called out to repair damage to the median.
