Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 22 1966, p. 14 Sam Haydis Rites Tuesday Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Alban’s Episcopal Church here for Sam Haydis, widely known and long time resident of Salome who passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix following brain surgery. The Rev. Dan Gerrard of Scottsdale, formerly of Wickenburg, conducted the rites and cremation followed. Mr Haydis is survived by his widow, Mrs E. V. Haydis and a son. In World War I he was a combat flyer in the American Expeditionary Forces. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
