KEY, Abel James, Jr.

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 Abel James Key, Sr. , age 71 of San Carlos, Ariz. passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at University Medical Center in Tucson. He was born in San Carlos on Feb. 19, 1940, the son of Leo and Ethel (Victor) Key. Abel worked was a pumpman operator for BHP at Pinto Valley. He attended the San Carlos Day School and also St. John's Mission School in Levine. At one time he worked for the Tribal Store in San Carlos. He enjoyed keeping up his yard, watching and playing sports with the grandkids, and when he could get away spending time with his friends at the Casino. Abel is survived by his wife, Maxine Key; his daughters, Gloria Thompson (Albert), Mary Key (Vincent Long), Brenda Key (Felix Antonio), Christine Hill (Hollis); sons, Abel Key, Jr. (Diane) and Howard Key; sister, Betty Ayze; brothers, James Key, Sr. and Leo Key, Jr., nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held on Thursday, April 28 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Final resting place is Lower Peridot /Six Mile Cemetery. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
