The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Oct. 27, 1961 Phoenix Rites For Richard Whitfield Funeral services were held in Phoenix at 10 a.m. Thursday for Richard F. Whitfield, 91-year-old Wickenburg resident and father of E. J. Woodson. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park Phoenix. Mr. Whitfield, a rancher and farmer in Texas before he came to Arizona in 1912, died in a Phoenix Hospital Sunday. He had been a blade operator for the State Highway Department and for the City of Phoenix for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1940. He resided here with his son and daughter-in-law. Surviving is another son, E. G. Woodson of Phoenix, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
