Lt. Cooke's Infant Son Found Dead
Sad news came to the Harry Cook, Jr, home here Monday morning when a call from Tampa, Florida, told them of the death of their youngest grandson, Christopher Eric Cooke, 5-months' old son of Air Force Lt. Dean Cooke and Mrs. Cooke. The little baby, who had seemed quite healthy, was found dead by his mother Monday morning.
Upon receipt of the news, Mrs. Harry Cooke caught a noon plane out of Phoenix Monday for Tampa to be with her daughter-in-law.
Lt. Cooke is in Air Force Hospital Tachikauwa in Japan, recovering from the after effects of leg wounds he received several weeks ago in Viet Nam. He was struck by enemy gunfire while riding in a helicopter with another pilot, the two searching for an Air Force fighter pilot who had been shot down. Taken to a hospital in Saigon, Lt. Cooke had recovered sufficiently to leave for the states but when hurrying to catch a plane out of Saigon he fell and tore open the stitches in his injured leg. That necessitated his being taken to the hospital in Japan where it is expected he must remain for at least two weeks.
