Deacon Robert B. Treichel

Deacon Robert B. Treichel was born in Kimberly, Wis., Feb. 20, 1931. He attended Kimberly grade and high schools from 1941 to 1949. He enlisted in the USAF in June of 1949 and transferred to Rhine Main, Germany, radio Operator. In 1951, was given the opportunity to attend a Cryptographic School in Germany.
In 1952, he received a transfer to Orly Field in Paris, France. He set up a new office and assigned personnel. In November of 1952, he was sent to the States where he was discharged. Employed for two years by Sinclair Refining Co., and then moved on to Sears Roebuck and Co. Bob retired from Sears in 1988 after 33 years in office and financial management.
Bob was a member of Toastmasters International for three years and Knights of Columbus. He served as a Cub Master, Scout Leader and Explorer Leader. Bob was employed by Sears in Appleton, Wis., Fort Dodge, Idaho, Great Falls, Mont., and Billings, Mont. In Milwaukee, Wis., is where he remained until retirement. Credit sales manager was his area and during the last six years, he took on additional duties as the manager of the cashier function along with catalogue and customer service.
Bob married his beloved Ramona Malchow Jan. 2, 1950, in Biloxi, Miss. They were blessed with four children, Mary, Benjamin, Debra and Robert.
Deacon Bob was ordained on June 14, 1984, after completing his studies for the deaconate at Saint Francis seminary. Archbishop Rembert G. Weakland, O.S.B., ordained him in the Mater Christi Chapel. He was assigned to St. Agnes Parish in Butler, Wis. In 1989 he moved to Lake Havasu City and received an assignment at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church where he served in the hospital ministry and on the altar.
Rosary will be at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Thursday at 11 a.m., followed by the Memorial Mass. Father Chauncey Winkler will offer words of comfort and inspiration. All deacons are encouraged to attend the Mass to vest in alb and white stole and to be seated as a body.
