Harry J. Jacobs of Congress died Dec 23 in Wickenburg. He was 78.
Mr Jacobs was born April 28, 1920 in Enid, Okla., and had lived in Arizona for 27 years--coming from California.
Mr Jacobs was a well-known country and western singer and guitarist as well as a pilot and avid pool hustler.
He also was known for his long career with Benner-Nawman Inc in California and Wickenburg as a design engineer.
Mr Jacobs was a member of the American Legion Kellis Draper Post 12 of Wickenburg and the Country and Western Swing Club of Sacramento, Calif.
Survivors include his special friend Helen Rost of Congress; sister Lynn Jacobs of Portland, Ore; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg, with the American Legion Kellis Draper Post 12 of Wickenburg officiating.
Contributions may be made in Jacobs' name to the Arizona Lung Association, 102 W McDowell Rd, Phoenix AZ 85003.
Frey Funeral Home and Crematory Service in Wickenburg handled all the arrangements.
