Julian T. Leyva, 92, of Prescott, Ariz., born May 19, 1918, passed away May 3, 2011.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary on May 12, 2011, at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott. Services will be 11 a.m. May 13, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott.

Julian Trujillo Leyva, age 92, passed away on May 3, 2011 in Prescott, Arizona. He was born in Williams, Arizona on May 19, 1918 to Dionisio Leyva Bustos and Maria Trujillo. One of 13 children, Julian, along with his brothers, worked for Santa Fe Railroad. He helped lay track in Drake, Ash Fork, and Perkinsville, Arizona. He worked until he was drafted into the US Army where he served in the Calvary from March 25, 1941 to July 9, 1943.
He married Maria Cruzita Perez of Fort Hancock, Texas on September 4, 1943. Julian worked as a machinist, a bus driver and a landscaper. They lived in Venice, California until they retired and settled in Prescott, Arizona. He will be laid to rest next to her. He loved the casinos, he traveled extensively, he collected caps and he had a great love for his dogs.
Julian is survived by a large extended family of many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Julian will be from 6pm â?? 7pm on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott with a Rosary to follow at 7pm.
A Funeral Service will be at 11am on Friday, May 13th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 N. Fleury in Prescott. Due to Julianâ's love of dogs, the family suggests that donations be made in his name to the Yavapai Humane Society, 1605 Sundog Ranch Rd., Prescott, AZ 86301. Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
