Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, May 7, 2011 - George Calvi passed away peacefully April 29, 2011, at age 90. He was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all. He retired from International Harvester (Navistar) in Chicago. He spent several of his retirement years in Del Ray Beach, Fla., before relocating to Lake Havasu to be near his son. George served time in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945 and was extremely proud of that throughout his life. He married his beloved wife, Rose, Feb. 14, 1942. They shared 65 wonderful years together before her passing in 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; son, Kenneth; daughter, MaryAnn; brother, Joe; and grandson, Christian. He is survived by his son, George (Sharon), of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Vanessa, Carissa, Alfonse, Joshua, Christopher, Susie, Jason, Jennifer and Nicola. He also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren; one nephew and two nieces. Services with military honors will be held at a later date in Chicago.
