Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 22, 1966, p. 4 CHARLEY BUTTON DIES IN PRESCOTT Funeral Services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Ruffner Funeral Home, Prescott, for Charley A. Button, 78, a retired miner who died Friday in Yavapai Community Hospital. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery. A resident of Yarnell at the time of his death, Mr Button had resided most of his life in Williams and Wickenburg, moving to Yarnell in 1956. He was brought to Williams as an infant 76 years ago from Albuquerque and from Williams came to Wickenburg in the 1930’s remaining through the 1940’s. Together with his brother, he had an extensive gold-mining operation about five miles east of Wickenburg. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Mrs Bettie Kroetch of Tucson, Mrs Charlene Ray of Albuquerque and Mrs Helen Frederickson of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Son-In-Law Ken Frederickson is the operator of the King Solomon mines near the five claims originally mined by Mr Button and his brother.
