Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 22, 1966, p. 4 Homer Rose Built Many Structures Services for Homer Rose, 65, who died of a heart attack Monday afternoon while clearing a building lot he owned, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Wickenburg Chapel, Rev. Scott Siegle presiding. Interment will follow in Wickenburg Cemetery. Mr Rose was born May 19, 1901, near Guthrie, Oklahoma and came to Wickenburg in 1928 where he entered into the contracting business. He leaves evidence of his talent along all of Wickenburg’s main streets, having built the Valley National Bank, Bar 7, La Cabana, the Bralliar Clinic, most of the buildings at the Slash Bar K guest ranch and the new Catholic Church. Notable among his achievements was the restoration of the historic Old Belmont hotel, now the Hassayampa Building. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; a brother, Harold G. Rose of Los Angeles; two sisters in Idaho; one son, Richard, of Carson City, Nev.; and two daughters, Leona, Mrs R. H. Proper of Prescott; and Thelma, Mrs W. G. Hartman of Kirkland, Wash.; also a granddaughter Carol Rose of Bagdad and nine other grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr Rose was a member of the American Legion and built the Legion Hall for the chapter.
