Lindsey D. Williams, Jr., age 73, passed away on Feb. 28, 2011. As a Miami Vandal football player in 1954 and 1955, Lindsey earned the nickname “Lightning.” He served 25 years in the Navy before retiring. He made his home in San Diego, Calif.

Lindsey is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Joan Manqueros Williams.

He leaves behind daughters, Debra and Kimberly; grandson, John Lindsey; and brother, Roy Williams.

Lindsey was honored by military memorial on April 22, 2011 at Ft. Rosencrans National Cemetery.
