Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Irene Bush, age 87, of San Carlos, Ariz., passed away on April 30, 2011 at Trillium Specialty Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. She was born in Claypool, Ariz. on Dec. 16, 1923, the daughter of John and Mary Burdette. Irene went to school in San Carlos and graduated from Phoenix Indian High School. Irene was a kind, gentle and caring woman, one who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She also had many skills and made beautiful cradelboards and clothing for her family to wear. At one time she also worked at the Tiffany’s Café in San Carlos. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Patten in 1946, and her second husband, the late Emerson Bush, Sr. in 2002. Irene is survived by her children, Jeanette Patten Yazzie, Dorothy Bush, Emerson Bush, Jr., Karen Bread, Mary Ann Eleando, Kathleen Bush and Jeanette Newman; 18 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Jeri Maynard officiating. Interment was at Northgate Cemetery in San Carlos, Ariz.
