Ollson of Las Vegas, Nev., became the 15th highway fatality in this area when he passed away at Community Hospital last Sunday from injuries received in a collision 11 miles west of town early in the morning of December 24. According to Highway Patrolman Hobart Smith, who investigated the accident, Mr Ollson had picked up Airman Jack L. Doan from the Nellis AFB at Las Vegas and the latter was driving when the car went out of control, crossed the highway and after traveling 76 feet on the shoulder, turned back on the highway and crashed head-on with a tanker owned by Fannin’s Gas & Equipment Co. It was being driven by Oliver F. Smith of Phoenix, who was uninjured. Doan was also brought to the hospital here but was removed to Luke Field and later to the Williams FB. The body of Mr Ollson, who was 54 years of age, was taken to Globe where funeral services were held this week.
