Minnesota Rites To Be Friday For
Mrs Molly Murphy
Mrs Molly Murphy, a leader in church and veteran affairs here for the past six years, died in Community Hospital Sunday morning. While she had been in the hospital for 10 days, her death came suddenly of a heart attack.
Rosary was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Wickenburg Chapel and the body was shipped later that day to Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs Murphy’s birthplace and home prior to coming here six years ago last September. Her son Tom, his wife and three of their children, Dennis, Molly and Pat, accompanied the body to Minneapolis where a Rosary service was scheduled for Thursday evening in the Gleason Mortuary and Requiem Mass was to be this morning (Friday) in St. Joseph’s Church there.
Mrs Murphy was born August 14, 1888, in Minneapolis. Mr Murphy died in Wickenburg in November, 1958. Surviving are eight children, 36 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The children are: Tom of Wickenburg, Emmett of St. Paul, and Vernon, Mrs. Marian Lachner, Mrs Genevieve Scholl, Mrs Cecelia Flaherty, Joseph and Mrs Patricia Bogucki, all of Minneapolis.
In Wickenburg, Mrs Murphy was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Altar Society of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
