Joyce Ann Scott was born in Monrovia, Calif., on Sun., Aug. 20, 1950. Joyce lost a two-year brave battle with an illness that she fought with unwavering strength, dignity and beauty on May 5, 2011 and will forever be missed by family and friends.
Joyce was born to Robert and Helen Jenks. She was one of seven children and attended school in Southern California until her move to Blythe, Calif. in 1969. She was Asst. Vice President for Colorado River Federal Savings and Loan and managed the office of Maltby Chiropractic in Blythe for many years. She met the love of her life, Chet Scott, and they married June 5, 1982. Joyce had a great love of the outdoors, traveling, art and being with her family and friends. She cherished each and every one of their four children and 10 grandchildren being involved in all of their activities and proud of their successes. Her family was always first in her life.
Joyce and Chet moved to Lake Havasu City in 2003 where they have remained. She loved boating, 4 wheeling in the desert, and traveling now that the children were grown. Joyce was an avid fisherwoman, and won the 2nd Annual Lions Bass Tournament in 2006 with her brother. She also hiked Cupcake Mountain, when those younger thought it too difficult.
Joyce is survived by her husband Chester D. Scott, and their four children - Kimberlie Jones, Ariz.; Stacy Scott, Calif.; William Lansford, Ariz.; and Chester A. Scott, Nev.; along with her 10 grandchildren. Joyce has six surviving siblings. Priscilla Marincic, Calif.; Robert Jenks, Calif.; Phyllis Parkhurst, Calif.; Carol, Ore.; John Jenks, Calif. and Nancy Gonzales, Calif. Joyce was a friend to all she met and has many friends touched by her spirit, laughter, and caring ways.
Per Joyce’s wishes, the family is planning a private Memorial at a later date, yet to be determined. They thank all of those that have been so supportive and caring during this difficult time.
