FASH, Daniel Arthur


Daniel Arthur Fash born November 14, 1944, in Burlington, IA, passed away on May 10, 2011, from complications of acute leukemia, in Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James C. Fash and O.Viola (Higgs) Fash and by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. He graduated from Galesburg High School, Galesburg, IL, in 1962, attended Kentucky Wesleyan College, and graduated from the University of Arizona. Daniel moved to Tucson in 1965. Following college graduation, he was employed by Valley National Bank (now Chase Bank). He was stationed in Germany while in the Army (1968-70) after which time he returned to his former employment at the bank, where he worked for 44 years. During this time, he also served as a volunteer Tucson reserve police officer for several years. Dan's interests and hobbies were numerous and varied, and he was an avid collector. He will be remembered for his exceptional kindness, consideration and helpfulness to others. He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Grossetta of Tucson and Susan Meier (Harvey) of Ashland, OR; by one nephew, John K. Likes; two nieces, Alexandra ("Sascha") Meier and Sabrina Visser (Jesse); a great-nephew, Kees Visser; his uncle, Arthur H. Fash (Lois) and two cousins in MI. He is also survived by several cousins and their families in Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held in Tucson next week.
