Fred Lee Newton, 50, of Cottonwood passed away May 1, 2001. He was born September 13, 1960 in Flagstaff, the son of Stacy and Mabel Newton.
He served his country in the Army where he was stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas and Germany.
He worked for Alexander Ford in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and locally for Reese & Sons Tire & Auto Center as a mechanic.
Fred had served as a children’s church pastor. He enjoyed watercolor painting, was a pool shark, enjoyed magic tricks and will always be remembered for his joke telling. The world will miss his smile and humor and the joy he had for life. God will enjoy his smile.
He was preceded in death by his father Stacy Newton.
Fred leaves his wife of 11 years, Donna Newton; sons, Justin Newton, Richard Stickney (Seanna), Lee Stickney (Rebecca); daughter Jennifer Newton, all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his mother Mabel Roe of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; sisters Cheryl Gartner (George) of Poulsbo, Washington, Lora Roe of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Linda Olson (Eric) of Winslow, Arizona and Susie Lynch (Pat) of Summit, New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 10:30 AM.
