The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Saturday, May 07, 2011 Harris E. Waren passed on May 5, 2011 at his home in Cottonwood. Harris was with members of his family who include his wife of 61 years, Barbara J. Waren, his daughters, Deborah Elders and Celeste Hoehne, their spouses Lee and Robert, grandchildren Brett Nilsson and Jeremy Hoehne (deceased), great grandchildren, Jaela and Kieran Nilsson, Preston Tayor and Jerren Hoehne. An aerospace engineer and the owner of Southwest e/m Engineering, Harris served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a HAM Radio operator (W7CBK) fisherman and jewelry maker. He held a lifetime membership in the Masonic Lodge #7 in Flagstaff AZ and was a Past Patron of Stars of Paradise, O.E.S. #56. A member of the Cherokee Nation, Harris always had a smile or a story to share; he never met a stranger and took the time to be a good friend to all he knew.
