LOGAN, Patterson David


Copper Country News, Globe, AZ Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Patterson David Logan, 90, passed away May 6, 2011. Pat was born March 5, 1921 in Henry County, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Ruth Logan; and his brothers, Max Logan and Lonnie Valjean Logan. Pat grew up farming and learned the blacksmith trade from his grandfather. He was a ‘Jack-of-All-Trades’ and loved to garden. He especially loved his apple trees, and gave many trees away. Church was always an important part of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and was always ready to go quail hunting. Pat retired from Yavapai School System, having worked at schools in Prescott, Mingus Mountain and Clarkdale. He served in WWII, in artillery and infantry, was a sergeant in the European Theater, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was discharged Dec. 5, 1945. He married his sweetheart after the war and raised two daughters. Pat was a devoted husband and loving father. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, June; daughters, Peggy (Cal) Toliver, and Vicki (John) Cienfuegos; and two grandchildren, Jodi Cienfuegos and Travis Cienfuegos. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday May 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Central Heights Baptist Church.
